Champ Off Road returns to Lucas Oil Speedway this weekend, in addition to Saturday-night oval program
WHEATLAND, MO. (April 29, 2025) - Short-course racing returns to the spotlight this weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway as the Amsoil Championship Off Road Series holds the three-day Show-Me Off-Road Shootout.
Following practice sessions and qualifying for the pro divisions on Friday, two days of races 13 Sportsman divisions and seven Pro divisions are in action Saturday and Sunday during the morning and afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Slick Mist Shootout on the dirt oval - Vietti Marketing Night at the Races - is set for Saturday night. Fans with a three-day Off Road ticket or Saturday Off Road ticket will be admitted free to the dirt track where the Hermitage Lumber Late Models, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B Mods and O'Reilly USRA Stock Cars will be in action.
Off Road classes in action include Pro 4, Pro 2, Pro Lite, Pro Buggy, Pro Spec, Pro Stock SxS, Amsoil Pro SxS, Mod Kart, 170/200 SxS, Short Course Karts, 570 SxS, 1600 Light Buggy, Stock Truck, 1600 Single Buggy, Super Stock Trucks, Sportsman SxS, PRO AM SxS, Youth SxS and Pro AM Turbo SxS.
Defending Champ Off Road Series champions in the pro classes are CJ Graves (Pro 4 Trucks), Keegan Kincaid (Pro 2), Owen Vaneperen (Pro SxS and Pro Stock SxS), Johnny Holtger (Pro Lite), Chadon Minder (Pro Buggy) and Wayatt Miller (Pro Spec).
Miller is the 13-year-old grandson of the legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr., and son of Kelley Earnhardt Miller. He prevailed in both days the Show-Me Shootout a year ago and has a busy schedule that includes dirt and pavement Late Models and Outlaw Karts.
Greaves is sidelined this weekend after recent knee surgery and will be replaced in his Pro 4 by his cousin, Kyle Greaves. C.J. Greaves, of Suamico, Wis., won in Pro 4, Pro SxS and Pro Stock SxS on the second day on the 1.2-mile Lucas Oil Speedway course a year ago as national-touring Off Road action returned to Wheatland for the first time since 2020.
Gates at the Off Road track open at 11 a.m. Friday, 7 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
For dirt-track action, pits and grandstands open at 4 p.m. Saturday with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7.
