Interstate Batteries High Limit Diamond Classic set for Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway
WHEATLAND, MO. (April 13, 2025) - The stars of Winged 410 Sprint racing return to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday night for the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing 3rd annual Diamond Classic.
The High Limit Series, in its fourth season under co-owners Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet, will be making the first of two appearances at Lucas Oil Speedway this season. For the first time, High Limit will be a part of the 16th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial, Sept. 17-19.
Fifteen tour regulars are joined by other top open-wheel talent to form the roster for each High Limit program, including the stops for the third straight season in Wheatland.
Tanner Thorson of Broken Arrow, Okla., leads series points by 21 over Aaron Reutzel of Clute, Texas. Rico Abreu and Giovanni Scelzi are tied for third, 60 back. Thorson and Reutzel both have two feature wins in eight events in 2026, while Thorson and Scelzi are the only drivers with top-10 finishes in each feature.
Reutzel, Abreu, Tyler Courtney, Brent Marks were High Limit winners in four series events at Lucas Oil Speedway in 2025. Courtney has returned this season from a serious crash at Eldora Speedway last September that sidelined him for the remainder of that season. He's fifth in points with four top-five finishes.
Abreu went on to win the series championship, finishing 49 points ahead of Brad Sweet, the series co-owner who has since retired from full-time racing.
Pit gates open at 2p.m. with grandstand gates at 4. Hot laps are set for 6:15 p.m. with racing at 7.
