Lucas Oil Speedway and Dallas County Speedway expand bonus partnership program for 2022

By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- Lucas Oil Speedway and Dallas County Speedway are expanding their partnership in 2022 to offer bonus money to drivers who can sweep features in USRA Weekly Racing Series divisions in two divisions that the tracks share.

Drivers able to win features in the USRA B-Mod division on the same weekend at both tracks - Friday at Dallas County Speedway in Urbana and Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland - will collect a $250 bonus ($125 from each track).

The bonus in the USRA Stock Cars division, which began during the 2021 season, will return next season also with a $250 bonus.

“I’m pleased to partner again with Scotty Allen at Dallas County Speedway in 2022 and expand the bonus program,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. “Scotty and I felt it was a good deal last year in the Stock Cars and we enjoy working together to help each track out the best we can.”

Scotty Allen, promoter at Dallas County Speedway, said he approached Lucas Oil Speedway management about doing the bonus last year for USRA Stock Cars. Derek Brown was the lone driver to win the bonus, but several others were close.

"This year Danny approached me and said 'would you want to do it again?' I said how about the B-Mods also? They have a great car count and we average about 19 B-Mods a week. Us working together helps us both," Allen said. "A lot of tracks any more don't work together. Two tracks of two different sizes that can work together like that shows you can show everybody that you can work together."

Lucas Oil Speedway recently released its tentative schedule for 2022 with an open Test and Tune set for April 9 and another for April 16, followed by the "Easter Bowl 150" Enduro race on April 16 following that test and tune. The 9th annual MLRA Spring Nationals are set for April 22-23 with the USRA Stock Cars and B-Mods part of the program on night two. The Weekly Racing Series Spring Opener opener is set for April 30.

Opening night at Dallas County Speedway for weekly racing is set for April 22.
