Monstor Trucks wrap up Lucas Oil Speedway season

By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- Fans get one final chance in 2017 to hear the engines roar at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday night with a huge demonstration of Monster Truck power.

The Monster Truck Nationals "Eve of Destruction" combines a powerhouse program of metal-crushing, fire-breathing trucks and a high-flying freestyle motorcycle show along with an early Halloween trick-or-treat celebration.

"It's a great way to finish another outstanding season, with a show that traditionally draws a big crowd," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. "Just the pure power, the sounds, the flames and the pure shock and awe of the Monster Trucks, it's unlike anything else we have at the speedway.

"And we encourage our fans, of all ages, to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costume. We'll make it a 'Spooktacular' night of fun for all and look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday."

Always one of the most-popular and hottest-selling tickets of the year, fans can save $5 off gate admission by purchasing tickets in advance at participating O'Reilly Auto Parts locations.

The big one-day show will feature six world-famous Monster Trucks - Bigfoot, Raminator, Heavy Hitter, Big Kahana, Snakebite and Basher.

A free Pit Party is included in the paid admission ticket and will start the evening at 5 p.m. Kids are invited to come in Halloween costume to the Pit Party for Trick or Treating and get autographs and photos with the drivers and vehicles.

Fans also can take a Sergeant Smash Monster Truck Ride during intermission for just $10 per person.

This year, Freestyle Insanity Moto-X will be on display as well. Keith Sayers will bring in the greatest in high-flying motorcycle action, featuring stunts like the cliffhanger, death grip and perhaps even a back flip.

The trucks also will hold a Wheelie Contest, Donut Contest and Long Jump Contest. The evening will conclude with a Grand Finale Truck Parade.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. with the Pit Party from 5-6:30 p.m. with showtime at 7. A giant 76 by 50 foot American flag presented by Naval Enlisted Reserve of Oklahoma will be displayed on the infield for the National Anthem. Engines will fire at 7:15 p.m.
