Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Oct. 1, 2015) – Seth Bergman will tackle Timberline Speedway this Saturday with the ASCS Red River Region.

Bergman captured a runner-up result at the 3/8-mile oval in Corley, Texas, earlier this season and he is seeking to finish one spot better this weekend.

“I’m going there trying to win and I think we can,” he said. “We came close in May so hopefully we can put together a strong night this Saturday and end on top.”

Bergman is coming off a sour weekend during the 5th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway.

“It was just a tough weekend,” he said. “You’ll have those weekends in racing. We’ve worked hard this week to get over it.”

The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader began last Friday with Bergman finishing third in a heat race after early contact with another competitor. That relegated him to a B Main, which Bergman won to transfer into the 19th starting position for the main event.

“It started out rough in the heat race,” he said. “We got used up and that cost us a decent finish. I had to run the B Main and won that. They reworked the track before we went out and it made it more difficult to go forward. It was the first night in a long time we’ve not had the speed needed.”

Bergman rallied to post a 14th-place result.

The weekend concluded on Saturday, when Bergman kicked off the competition by advancing from third to second place in a heat race. He then won a B Main for the second straight night, which lined him up on the inside of the ninth row for the main event.

“I felt like I moved into the top 10 pretty quick and we were back on track with the speed we needed to have,” he said. “I was focused on getting farther up in the field. Then the engine started to go and I shut it down.”

Bergman had advanced into the top 10 approximately 10 laps into the feature prior to the mechanical problem. He was credited with a 22nd-place result.
