CJ Greaves' big day headlines Round 2 of Show-Me Off Road Shootout at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, MO. (May 4, 2025) - CJ Greaves finished off the Show-Me Off Road Shootout in grand fashion. The Wisconsin driver rallied for the Pro 4 Truck victory on Sunday at Lucas Oil Speedway, capping a three-win day for himself as the AMSOIL Champ Off Road Series season finished its opening weekend.

Greaves, of Suamico, Wis., also captured victories in the Pro SxS and Pro Stock SxS as top-level national-touring off road action returned to Wheatland for the first time since 2020.

In the Pro 4 feature, Greaves took the lead with one lap to go and held off Paul Wolff to capture a wild, hard-fought victory that saw four different leaders.

Greaves, third in Round 1 of Pro 4s on Saturday, beat Wolff by 3.9 seconds with Johnny Greaves, CJ’s dad, grabbing third after rallying from behind upside down on the opening lap.

“Early on the track was pretty good and we were all kind of dicing it up a little bit,” Graves said. “Then I ended up about running over some people over here and after that I was like we have to just go back, settle down, let the race carry on and see what happens here and that’s what we did. We started picking them off.”

Cole Mamer held a 1.6-second lead over RJ Anderson at the halfway point with those two well in front of third-place Wolff. Anderson grabbed the lead on the next lap after the restart when Mamer spun after a jump, sending him back to sixth place.

But Anderson, leading Wolff by six seconds, soon had a left-rear tire come apart. Anderson tried to nurse his truck in the lead as long as he could, but finally had to pull into the pits. Wolff inherited the lead with CJ Greaves right behind.

From there, Greaves chased down Wolff to complete the Sunday hat trick.

“We put our head down and just tried to have a good couple of laps and then just bring it home,” Greaves said.

Wolff, after finishing a career-best second, added “that was an intense race. Me and CJ battled hard. We had a plug wire or something come off and we weren’t able to rotate the truck.”

Kincaid takes Pro 2 victory: Keegan Kincaid of Crandon, Wis., denied Ryan Beat a second straight Pro 2 victory, taking the lead after the halfway point and holding off Beat over the final laps for the two-wheel-drive truck win.

Round 1 winner Beat grabbed the lead at the start and had a 2.09-second lead over Kincaid at the midway flags. Kincaid found his way around Beat on the first lap after action returned to green but Beat remained right on Kincaid’s bumper.

No matter what Beat tried, Kincaid was up to the challenge and won by .982 seconds. Ricky Gutierrez came home in third.

“We were all pretty fast and I was just kind of feeling him out at the halfway,” Kincaid said of the move on Beat. “I think we were pretty equal. I don’t know if he was trying to protect at halfway and it’s tough. We had guys diving left and right. We fortunately got a really good run.”

Also in the Pro division on Sunday:

Pro Buggy - Michael Meister of Wausau, Wis., led all the way and finished 5.06 seconds in front of Billy Buth for the Pro Buggy victory. Zachary Drapkin wound up in third.

Pro Spec - For the second day in a row, 14-year-old Wyatt Miller of Statesville, N.C., captured the Pro Spec victory. The grandson of racing legend Dale Earnhardt was second at the halfway point, but took over to finish 9.9 ahead of Avery Hemmer with Nick Visser four more seconds back in third.

Pro Stock SxS - CJ Graves took home the win in the Pro Stock SxS, as the Suamico, Wis., driver earned a two-second triumph over Owen VanEperen. It was a flip of the first two finishes from Saturday’s opening round. Cross Kirchmeier was third.

Pro Lite - Johnny Holtger of Abrams, Wis., took the lead before the halfway point and completed a weekend sweep in the Pro Lites, rolling to a 4.3 second victory over runner-up Connor Barry. Michael Funk came home in third.

ASMOIL Pro SxS - CJ Greaves made it two wins on Sunday, holding off Owen VanEperen by just under a second for the Pro SxS feature win. Rodney VanEperen settled for third after his second passed him for second with two laps remaining.

Sportsman division winners on Sunday were: Logan Fritzinger (Youth SxS), Rick Schroeder (Pro Am Turbo SxS), Jared Jadin (Pro Am SxS), Code St Peter (Sportsman SxS), Michael Seefeldt (1600 Single Buggy), Connor Schulz (1600 Light Buggy), Brian Peot (Stock Truck), Scott Boulanger (Super Stock Truck), Dakota Akins (Mod Kart), Gabe Holtger (Short Course Kart), Drew Gerber (170 SxS), Grayson Forseth (200 SxS) and Peyton Weisbrod (570 SxS).

Oval track action resumes Saturday: Vietti Marketing Group presents the Pitts Homes and Realty Weekly Racing Series on the dirt oval next Saturday night with all Moms admitted free courtesy of Vietti Marketing The Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modifieds will run a $2,000-to-win feature as part of the Heartland Modified Tour. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Stock Cars, Clear Creek Golf Car B-Mods and Hermitage Lumber Late Models also will be in action.

Grandstands open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7. General admission is $5 for ages 6-and-over with Moms free. Pit passes are $35.
