LUCKY NUMBER 7 FOR THE 99 “A” MOD
Eric Turner definitely knows the way to the AAA Winner’s Circle at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. Saturday’s win in the Pitt’s Homes “A” Modified event during the O’Reilly MLRA Late Model Clash was his seventh of the season.
“Another great “A” Mod race,” said Kevin Greven, General Track Manager. “I don’t know what else to say, the Pitt’s Homes guys have not had a bad race all year. In fact, even racing in support at our big events this season, they nearly always steal the show.”
Turner takes the win but gets little help in the points as current points leader Jamie Ragland finished second. Johnny Fennewald, currently 4th in points joined the duo in the AAA Winner’s Circle.
Turner started 9th and worked his way to the front but never shook Ragland making for another great finish. Steve Martin and David Hendrix rounded out the top 5.
Hard chargers on the night had to be Justin Boney and Jason Pursley. They started 21st and 22nd respectively and charged through the field for 6th and 7th place finishes. Kris Jackson was 8th, Aaron Poe 9th and 16 year Pitt’s Homes “A” Mod Rookie Kelby Taylor took his 3rd straight top ten finish in the 10th slot.
Don’t miss the Liquor Warehouse Night at the Races this Saturday, August 30th, which will mark the second to last weekly race of the season. In action Saturday Night: Pitt’s Homes “A” Modifieds, Transport Graphic Factory Stock, Miller Lite ULMA Late Models and the second appearance this season of the Legend Cars presented by Chester’s Chicken.
