WHEATLAND, MO (March 20th, 2014)- Officials with Lucas Oil Speedway and Midwest Sheet Metal are pleased to announce the highly successful Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge last chance race will once again be part of the 22nd Annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 over Memorial Day Weekend in 2014. "This race in 2013 added so much to the event that Chris Davis and I wanted to be sure to do it again in 2014." stated Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson.
The top-24 drivers not already locked into the main event after the completion of heat races and b-mains will be eligible for the 20-lap, $2,000 to win Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge held just prior to the feature race. The winner has the choice to either take the $2,000 race winnings and put it in the trailer or start last in the 100 lap main event to get a chance at the $30,000. In addition to the winners share, the race pays a minimum of $250 to start so it gives everyone in the field a chance for additional winnings despite not making the main event.
Winfield, Tennessee's Mike Marlar captured the win in last year's inaugural event, electing to start shotgun on the field in the $30,000 to win Show-Me 100 forgoing the $2,000 check for the win. The decision paid off as Marlar charged from his 33rd starting spot in the main event to finish 7th at the finish.

"We're really proud to be part of the Show-Me Challenge event" stated Midwest Sheet Metal President Chris Davis, "the Show-Me 100 is such a prestigious race and anything we can do to help the racers with a chance to earn some extra money and get another shot at winning the main event is a great feeling."
