The "Diamond of Race Tracks", Lucas Oil Speedway located in Wheatland, MO, is looking at several major developments for 2011. The biggest addition includes the most talked about event since last season's DART Show-Me 100, that being the inaugural Diamond Drag Boat Nationals coming to Lucas Oil Speedway. Drag boat racing at Wheatland? Well this is all made possible by the brand new purpose built Liquid Quarter Mile currently being constructed just south of the existing dirt track.
Barring any unforeseen weather related construction delays; the Lucas Oil Diamond Drag Boat Nationals inaugural event is scheduled to take place on July 29th-31st, 2011. Even more exciting is that the Lucas Oil Production Studios will be producing a CBS Sports Spectacular and capturing all of the racing action and excitement of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series.
In addition to the huge channel of water, race fans can look forward to facility improvements such as a brand new Go-Kart Slick track located just west of the existing grandstand complex as well as a new 2-story bar/party deck facility located in Turns 1 and 2 and will include an additional 500 seats.
