Two major sponsorship announcements were made during the Lucas Oil Speedway end of season banquet Saturday Night November 14th. Ken Walker from Transport Graphics thanked the Factory Stock Racers on hand for a tremendous 2009 racing season and then announce (with admitted trepidation) he was moving his class sponsorship to the Late Model Class in 2010.
"Making the switch has really weighed heavy on my heart," Walker said to those in attendance, "We have really enjoyed having our company name attached week in week out to such a hard charging group of racers." The switch comes as Transport Graphics rolls out an innovative new process, let alone a completely new way of thinking about race car graphics. It is called Quick Skins and involves printing graphics directly on the sheets of aluminum before the skin is cut out, shaped and mounted on the race care.
The process obviously is designed for the flat metal skins Late Models and Modifieds. It not only looks amazing but can cut the cost of a full or partial vinyl wrap significantly. For more information contact Ken: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Returning again in 2010 to the Modified class will be Pitt's Homes. They have been a great sponsor and good friend to both racers and the speedway.
Finally with Transport Graphics making the move to the Late Model class, the door was opened for a new sponsor in 2010 and NAPA happily walked right through. BIll Heiser from NAPA/Carson's Corner Auto Parts has been a car sponsor at the speedway in the past but is excited to extend his and NAPA's exposure for 2010. Heiser spoke with banquet attendees and said he would like to be more then just an auto parts supplier to them.
"I want to hear from racers as to what parts you need on a regular basis," said Heiser, "And I will do my best to get them and keep them in stock at my store in Carson's Corner."
Is it April yet?
