Pitt’s Homes “A” Modifieds
It been said over and over that every time the Pitt’s Homes “A” Mods take the track it is some of the “best weekly racin’ in the Nation.” Saturday night was no exception and when it was all said and done, David Hendrix was on top.
Hendrix started on the pole and stayed there which was good for him as out back it was all breaking loose, lap after lap. 16 year-old Kelby Taylor had a really strong run tonight after a 4th place finish last week. However after contact in a hard racing incident with Johhny Fennewald, he found himself watching the field go by from the top of turn 2.
As a result of the contact, Fennewald was sent to the back. Before the restart however, Taylor made is feelings on the incident apparent to Fennewald with his front bumper and was sent to the pits. This relegated him to a 19th place finish. Fennewald however battled back to finish 13th.
Rex Merritt also ran up front most of the night but mechanical problems ended his bid to chase down Hendrix. Shawn Nations started 11th and joined Hendrix in the Winner’s Circle as did last week’s hard charger Terry Kirk who finished third.
Speaking of hard chargers, Jeff Cutshaw get the award tonight as he came from 17th to finish fourth. Steve Martin finished 5th followed by Jason Pursley, Eric Hudson, Daulton Greven, Aaron Poe and Donnie Fellers rounding out the top 10.
Next up for the Pitt’s Home “A” Mods, they are back in action this Saturday Night, June 6th with the O’Reilly MLRA presented by Lucas Oil Products.

Slick Mist Late Models
Saturday night was A&G Electric Race Night at the Lucas Oil Speedway. Both fans and Sponsor were treated to one of most exciting Slick Mist Late Model races of season. J.D. Hubert not only took his 3rd straight win but did it on his own sponsor’s night at the races.
However, it was another Hubert, brother Evan in the number 9 Lucas Cattle Company Late Model that dominated most of the race. Evan started from the pole and looked to be cruising to his first Late Model victory; but problems negotiating lapped traffic not only let the field catch up, but brother JD slip by for the lead.
Rex Merritt in his Show-Me late model also got past as did Bryon Allison. Merritt then set his sites on JD amidst the lap traffic mayhem but Hubert cleared them first and held on for the win.
Allison took third, Evan Hubert settled for fourth and Kevin Kaiser rounded out the top 5. Jordon Holloway, Jake Williams, John Fellers, Matt Menzie and Toby Ott finish out the top 10. The Slick Mist Late Models return to action, Saturday June 13th. For more information log on to www.LucasOilSpeedway.com.
