Since the Lucas Oil Speedway opened the gates mid-season 2006 there has been a steady line of requests from the “RVers” for a designated campground on site. Fans have come to expect the Speedway, which is already considered one the top 5 in the Nation, to deliver that kind of over the top amenities. Well we are very excited to announce the opening of the Lucas Oil Speedway Campground for the 2009 Season.
“This place is just awesome,” said Randy Bowman, General Track Manager. “The campers are really going to be impressed, we may have to change our name to the Diamond of Camp Grounds in a few seasons.”
Located just south of the pits, the new campground sits on nearly 80 acres. The designated campsite over looks a four-acre lake that we are slowing stocking with fish. Beyond the lake are 40 plus wooded acres, which over the next few seasons will have walking and nature trails developed therein.
Among the campgrounds amenities is one the nicest bath and shower houses in the industry. The site also includes a dark water dump station and a potable water source.
For 2009 the site will have nearly 50 designated RV camping sites. There will be 12 sites with 30 amp hookups and water (no sewer) and 38 dry camping spaces all with graveled parking slots for the RVs.
“We are starting a bit on the conservative side with the number of sites,” added Bowman, “but we have a lot of room to grow and look forward to meeting all your camping needs in the future.”
The cost for sites with electric and water is $25 per night and just $10 for dry camping. All sites however have full use of the bathhouse. The electric and water sites are already sold out for the Diamond Nationals in May and several other races are getting close as well. Don’t wait. Make your reservation now by calling the speedway at (417) 282-5984 or emailing email@example.com.
We are very excited to offer this service to those special fans that travel by RV to the races. Imagine having the option to set up camp in a beautiful and secure camp ground with restroom and bath facilities versus a parking lot. Special prices available for tent camping as well.
