The stage is set for the final race of the year at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks, Saturday October 4th. It will also serve as the last race of the season for the ULMA which will crown their 2008 Champion and recognize their top 10 in points during intermission.
"We really appreciate all the work officials from the ULMA continue to put forth in the development of their series," said Kevin Greven, General Track Manager. "They have a quality product and we see it every week on the track."
Since this is not a points race for either the series or the track officials wanted to do something special for the drivers and the fans. The decision was made to run this final event "Topless"!
"This is going to be a lot of fun for the fans," added Greven. "Not to mention a new experience for the drivers. Some of the Super Late Model touring groups go topless once in a while for special events but this will be the first time the ULMA drivers have had the opportunity."
Also in action on the Saturday October 4th will be the Pitt's Homes "A" Modifieds. However, things get started a bit early with gates opening at 4 p.m. and racing to start at 6 p.m. in the final event of the season.
With the last race ready to run our attention now focuses on "OUR" Class Champions and top 10 ten from the Miller Lite ULMA Late Models, Pitt's Homes "A" Modifieds and Transport Graphic Factory Stocks. Mark your calendars as our end of the season awards banquet has been set for Saturday November 8, 2008. More information coming soon.
